About Officially
Officially is a platform where organizations publish in their own words and people follow them directly: governments, regulators, public institutions, international bodies, companies and nonprofits. It answers one question — what did this organization actually publish, and when?
Why it exists
Most people meet official information second-hand: reposted, summarised, ranked by how much reaction it gets, and wrapped in somebody else's commentary. By the time a notice reaches you, it is hard to tell what the organization actually said.
Officially is the other way round. The organization's own words, in the order it published them, with nothing in between: no influencers, no algorithm, no ranking by engagement. Follow the source itself, not whoever reposted it.
What it records
- Where a publication came from: which organization published it, on which page, and when.
- How it changed: every version is kept. A correction never overwrites the original, and a withdrawn publication stays readable, marked as withdrawn.
- Where we read it: the feed or page each record was taken from.
What it does not record
Whether anything is true. Officially records provenance, not accuracy, and it endorses no one. A record marked "Imported from official source" was read from the organization's own website, feed or API. It does not mean we verified the organization or checked the content.
An organization listed here has not necessarily claimed its profile or had any contact with us. Until someone from it proves control of its domain, it stays "imported from official source".
What it will not become
A social network. There are no likes, no comments, no follower counts and no ranking by engagement, because a notice does not become less important for getting less attention. Feeds are chronological. Reading never requires an account, and the read API and Atom feeds are free and need no key.
Who runs it
Officially is a non-commercial project run by Cosmin Ștefănigă in Romania, as Ștefănigă D. Cosmin-Lucian PFA. It has no investors and shows no advertising. The terms and the privacy policy say exactly what it stores and on what basis.
Publishers: how to claim your organization. Everyone else: how to reach us.
