For publishers
If your organization is on Officially, its publications were imported from your own website, feed or API. Each one links back to your page, and the profile says "Imported from official source" until someone from your organization claims it.
How to claim your organization
- Create a free account and confirm your email address.
- Choose Claim this organization on its page, or start a claim.
- Publish the TXT record the site shows you at
_officially.<your domain>, then ask us to check it.
For a company or a nonprofit, a verified domain approves the claim. For governments, regulators, public institutions and international organizations, a person also reviews the claim before it is approved: controlling a domain is not the same as being entitled to speak for a public authority.
The verification token is only ever shown on this site, after you sign in. We never send one by email and never ask anyone to change DNS by reply. If a message asks you to, it did not come from us.
What verification means
"This account proved control of this domain." Nothing more. It does not mean we checked your publications or vouch for them, and Officially still records where a publication came from, not whether it is true.
Verification is never for sale. It cannot be bought, and no subscription will ever grant it.
What a verified organization can do
- Show its full text. Imported publications show an extract and send readers to your page. A verified organization can choose to have its text shown in full.
- Publish directly, through the website or the write API with keys that belong to the organization, carry fixed scopes and can be revoked at any time.
- Correct and withdraw what it publishes here. Every correction is kept as a new version, and withdrawal marks a record withdrawn rather than deleting it. There is no delete.
Publications imported from your website stay a record of what your website said: they cannot be edited through any channel. To change one, change it at the source and the new version is recorded.
Already available, claimed or not
Readers can follow any organization, and every organization has its own Atom feed and a read API. None of that needs a claim.
