Apply for a funding contribution to protect synagogues and other Jewish community organisations.

The Jewish Community Protective Security Grant is managed on behalf of the Home Office by the Community Security Trust (CST) to protect synagogues, Jewish educational establishments and community organisations.

You can apply for a funding contribution if your site is at risk of hate crime or terrorism, and you represent:

  • a Jewish school or other educational establishment (such as a nursery, primary or secondary school, or a further education yeshiva or seminary)
  • be registered with the Department for Education (DfE) or Ofsted
  • provide documents that prove they do not need to be registered with DfE or Ofsted
  • If eligible, you will receive a funding contribution towards:

  • security personnel services (guarding), providing visible security staff at your location (during normal operational hours)
  • in some cases, physical security measures such as CCTV and alarms
  • If your site is not already a recipient of the Jewish Community Protective Security Grant funding but meets the above criteria, please contact the Community Security Trust (CST) at [email protected] to enquire about funding. For further information, see the CST website.

We check all applications to the Jewish Community Protective Security Grant to make sure organisations meet the standards required for the scheme. This is known as due diligence.

If your application is successful, we will carry out ongoing checks to make sure your organisation continues to meet these standards. You can read the standards in the protective security for faith communities code of conduct.
