Guidance: Joint inspections of the response to children who are victims of domestic abuse
Guidance for joint targeted area inspections (JTAIs) of the multi-agency response to children who are victims of domestic abuse.
This guidance is for inspectors carrying out a JTAI of the multi-agency response to children who are victims of domestic abuse.
These JTAIs are carried out by inspectors from:
His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS)
His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Probation (HMIP)
Updated with minor changes to the practical arrangements for inspections: we ask for information about other children living in the household earlier in the case selection process, we have extended the deadline for sharing children’s case records, and we have added additional guidance on sharing information about commissioned services.
Fully reviewed and updated ahead of inspections starting in autumn 2024. Former 2018 guidance in Word and PDF formats have been archived and removed.
Joint targeted area inspection reports are now on the Ofsted reports site.
Added joint targeted area inspection report for Durham.
