Security Council, 10230th Meeting (AM) Middle East, Palestine
The Security Council will hold a briefing today on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question. Ramiz Alakbarov, Acting Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, and two civil society representatives are expected to brief. Mr. Alakbarov will deliver the quarterly update on the implementation of Council resolution 2334 (2016), which demanded that Israel cease all settlement activity in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and called for immediate steps to prevent violence against civilians.
