The UK/European Applicant Transfer Scheme is closed to new applications.

If you have already submitted an application, you will be informed of the decision in due course.

The UK/European Applicant Transfer Scheme is a way for you to enter the UK legally if you are in France. Your partner and children will be able to come with you if they are also in France. Your children must be under 18. 

There are a limited number of places to come to the UK on the scheme which will be released gradually. 

If successful, you will be given entry clearance to the UK for up to 3 months. 

You must not attempt to travel to the UK while you wait for a decision from the Home Office. 

Coming to the UK on the UK/European Applicant Transfer Scheme has 5 steps:  

Confirm you are in France using your mobile phone or other device  

Prove your identity at an in-person appointment  

 Each of these steps and what you’ll need to complete them is explained below.  

Do not submit an expression of interest application if you: 

  • have previously entered or arrived in the UK illegally 
  • have international protection from any other country 
  • are officially recognised as stateless by any other country 
  • are from the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland 
  • are the family member of someone from the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland 
  • have previously been refused entry clearance on the scheme
  • The UK/European Applicant Transfer Scheme is closed to new applications.

    a valid or expired document that shows your identity and nationality, such as a passport or national identity document – if you are selected you will need to bring this to your appointment 

    a digital photo of your passport or other document (valid or expired) to upload to the application form 

    a recent digital photo of yourself – it must be no more than 3 months old
