The New Eurodac: Modernising Europe’s Asylum and Migration Management

The new Eurodac entered into operation on 12 June 2026, marking an important milestone in the implementation of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum and the wider interoperability framework. This video explains what Eurodac is, how it supports national authorities in managing asylum and migration, the new capabilities introduced by the updated system, and eu-LISA’s role in developing and operating the central system. The video was produced in cooperation with the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA).
