Announcement

At the invitation of H.E. Senior Minister General Kun Kim, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Cambodian Veterans and Pensioners Association, and Rotating President of the Veterans Confederation of ASEAN Countries (VECONAC), Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, will participate in the 38th Executive Board Meeting and the 25th General Assembly of VECONAC, to be held in Phnom Penh, the Kingdom of Cambodia, on 4-5 October 2026.

During the meetings, Dr. Kao is scheduled to deliver remarks and engage with the leadership of VECONAC and heads of delegations of veterans’ associations from ASEAN Member States.

The meetings will provide a platform for veterans’ associations across the region to exchange views and identify common efforts to advance the welfare of veterans, persons with disabilities, and families of fallen soldiers.

Dr. Kao’s participation underscores ASEAN’s continued engagement with VECONAC and the shared commitment to honouring the contributions of veterans to peace, stability, and community-building in the region, in line with the aspirations of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future.
