NB8 and Ukrainian leaders: Ukraine’s remaining EU accession clusters must be opened in September and October

Kyiv, 23 August 2026 – The leaders of the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) countries and Ukraine adopted a joint declaration at today’s summit in Kyiv, reaffirming their unwavering support for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and pledging to continue supporting Ukraine until a just and lasting peace is achieved. In the declaration, the leaders support opening all remaining clusters in Ukraine’s accession negotiations with the European Union without delay, already in September and October.
