Kristen Michal ahead of the Ankara Summit: Europe must become stronger for NATO to remain strong

Stenbock House, 6 July 2026 – Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal, Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur and Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna will attend the NATO Summit in Ankara on 7–8 July. Estonia expects the summit to deliver concrete steps to strengthen collective defence, including meeting defence spending targets, developing the defence industry and supporting Ukraine, in light of the long-term threat that Russia poses to the Alliance.
