System Innovation to Make Korea One of the World’s Top Five Science and Technology Powers On Monday, 24 August, 2026, the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bae Kyung-hoon) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT) held the fifth ICT Strategic Dialogue in Beijing, where the two sides exchanged views on their respective ICT policies and discussed future cooperation. Following the MOU on Digital Technology Cooperation signed at the Korea-China Summit in January this year, the MSIT and MIIT resumed the dialogue for the first time in eight years, following the fourth meeting held in 2018. Over the past eight years, both countries have emerged as global leaders in digital technology. Against this backdrop, close cooperation between two countries has become increasingly important in seizing shared opportunities and addressing challenges arising from advances in digital technology.
