Central Bank of the Republic of China(Taiwan)  PRESS RELEASE                                                 Release Date: September 14, 2026                     Approved foreign exchange business in August 2026 In line with the policy of promoting the liberalization, internationalization, and development of the foreign exchange market, the Bank approved the following: EnTie Commercial Bank to engage in non-discretionary individually managed money trust business denominated in foreign currencies. Bank of Taiwan, Mega International Commercial Bank and First commercial Bank to issue foreign currency denominated negotiable certificates of deposit.  As of the end of  August 2026, there were 3,451 authorized banks, including 3,411 domestic banks, 3 Mainland banks, and 37 foreign banks.
