Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) PRESS RELEASE Release Date: August 31, 2026 Statistics on Banks’ Derivatives Trading Activity (July 2026) Turnover of derivatives contracts, in notional terms, traded by banks in July 2026 totaled NT$24,165.7 billion (Table 1, Figure 1), led by foreign exchange contracts (NT$21,043.0 billion), followed by interest rate contracts (NT$2,834.1 billion), equity-linked contracts (NT$258.4 billion), commodity contracts (NT$24.0 billion), and credit contracts (NT$6.2 billion). Total turnover decreased by 7.29% from the previous month, primarily reflecting declines in interest rate swap and FX swap turnovers (Table 2).
