Consumer Price Developments in August 2026
MAS Core Inflation increased to 2.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) in August, from 2.0% in July.
This was because of higher inflation for services, retail & other goods and food.
On a month-on-month (m-o-m) basis, core prices rose by 0.3% in August.
CPI-All Items inflation edged up to 2.3% y-o-y in August, from 2.2% in July.
This was due to higher core inflation, which more than offset lower private transport inflation.
On a m-o-m basis, CPI-All Items increased by 0.6% in August.
