Sri Lanka showcases its diverse tourism offerings in Beijing

The inaugural event of the tourism promotion roadshows held across three cities in China, organised by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau in coordination with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing, was held on 18 September 2026 in Beijing, China. Sri Lanka was promoted as a vibrant destination offering a blend of rich history, eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, mesmerising landscapes, pristine beaches, dense forests and majestic mountains, inviting Chinese travellers to visit, explore and experience the island. Twenty Sri Lankan destination management companies and hotels, together with Sri Lankan Airlines, 146 Chinese travel agencies, tour operators, MICE players and 20 media outlets attended the event. Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings were conducted between Sri Lankan tourism industry representatives and Chinese travel and tourism enterprises, facilitating direct engagement and exploring potential business partnerships to enhance tourism exchanges.
