Yesterday, the Government of Canada concluded its pre-budget consultations for Budget 2026. In the face of ongoing affordability pressures and recent U.S. tariff actions, Budget 2026 will outline the government's next steps to support Canadian workers and businesses, create the conditions for businesses to grow and invest, strengthen Canada’s competitiveness, and build a more resilient and prosperous economy.

Yesterday, the Government of Canada concluded its pre-budget consultations for Budget 2026. In the face of ongoing affordability pressures and recent U.S. tariff actions, Budget 2026 will outline the government's next steps to support Canadian workers and businesses, create the conditions for businesses to grow and invest, strengthen Canada’s competitiveness, and build a more resilient and prosperous economy.

Over the course of the summer, the Minister of Finance and National Revenue, the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, the Secretary of State (Canada Revenue Agency and Financial Institutions), the Honourable Wayne Long, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance and National Revenue and Parliamentary Secretary to the Secretary of State (Canada Revenue Agency and Financial Institutions), Ryan Turnbull and the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Sophie Chatel, travelled across Canada to hear directly from Canadians. Together, they visited 23 cities, hosted 44 roundtables and participated in 56 bilateral meetings with workers, businesses, Indigenous partners, labour representatives, innovators, academics, community leaders, and non-profit organizations.
