Minister Joly to announce new Eddie Goldenberg Research Chairs of Canada and investments to recruit top researchers and strengthen British Columbia’s life sciences sector

August 26, 2026 – Vancouver, British Columbia

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, and Wade Grant, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, will announce the intake 1 results for the Eddie Goldenberg Research Chairs of Canada program and the Canada Impact+ Emerging Leaders program.

They will also announce Strategic Response Fund investments in Evonik and Kardium that will increase Canada’s industrial capacity to develop and manufacture innovative health solutions.
