Overseas Investment Amendment Regulations (No 2) - Information Release

The Overseas Investment Act 2005 has been amended by the Overseas Investment Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2026, which came into effect on 11 September 2026. The amendment reduces investment application fees for the majority of applicants at stages one and two of the national interest assessment. Additionally, the amendment enables the regulator to waive, discount, or refund fees where appropriate to improve the consistency and fairness of the regime.
