MOFA welcomes joint statement by US, Japanese, South Korean foreign ministers reiterating importance of peace and stability across Taiwan Strait

Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung sincerely welcomes and appreciates the joint statement issued following a trilateral meeting in New York between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs Toshimitsu Motegi, and South Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.  The statement reiterated the importance of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and opposed any attempts to unilaterally change the status quo. It also expressed support for Taiwan’s meaningful participation in appropriate international organizations.
