Bundesminister Gerhard Karner reiste am 6. Oktober 2026 zu einem Arbeitsgespräch nach Ankara. Dort wurde er von seinem türkischen Amtskollegen Mustafa Çiftçi empfangen. Begleitet wurde Innenminister Karner vom Generaldirektor für die öffentliche Sicherheit, Franz Ruf, und Sektionschef Peter Webinger.
