World Space Week 2026: discover how HaDEA is supporting the rocket revolution

World Space Week, held annually from 4 to 10 October, is an international celebration of space science and technology.

This year, the chosen theme is “Rocket Revolution”, focusing on the rapid transformation of space launch. Once limited to a small number of government programs, access to space is now rapidly growing through the rise of commercial launch providers, innovative rockets, daring start-ups, and new space actors. 

Autonomous access to space is a prerequisite for the strategic autonomy of the EU. By using European-made launchers and supporting the development of both established and new European companies, the EU is helping to ensure autonomous, resilient, and competitive access to space for the decades to come. 

HaDEA is funding research and innovation projects in key areas such as reusable launch solutions, disruptive digital technologies, autonomous space transportation, and European spaceports. Together, these projects are advancing Europe’s access to space capabilities and boosting the competitiveness of the European space industry.
