Foreign Minister Valtonen to visit Singapore

Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will visit Singapore, where she will meet Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan and Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo on Tuesday 13 October.
At their bilateral meetings, the Ministers will discuss current issues related to artificial intelligence (AI), Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and opportunities for trade, economic and investment cooperation.
“Finland wants to strengthen its strategic cooperation with Singapore in artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies and to promote secure, reliable and human-centred AI globally,” says Minister for Foreign Affairs Valtonen.
Minister Valtonen will give an opening address at Singapore International Cyber Week and participate in a roundtable discussion on AI convened by Coordinating Minister for National Security Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam.
