PRESS RELEASE                                                     Release Date: October 12, 2026

For the month of September 2026, the daily average balance of reserve money was NT$7,686.6 billion, an increase of NT$107 billion from the previous month. Of the components, currency in circulation increased by NT$9.3 billion, while reserves deposited with the Bank increased by NT$97.7 billion.

Regarding the factors affecting reserve money, contractionary factors included tax remittances to the National Treasury, the issuance of government bonds, and government borrowings. However, these effects were more than offset by expansionary factors, including principal and interest payments on government bonds, a net decrease in NCDs issued by the Bank, and the disbursement of various subsidies and centrally-allocated tax revenues. As a result, the daily average balance of reserve money increased from the previous month.

The annual growth rate of the daily average balance of reserve money increased by 1 percentage point from 7.03% in the previous month to 8.03%. For the first nine months of the year, the annual growth rate of the daily average balance of reserve money was 7.24%, higher than 5.81% in the same period last year.
