MOFA announces it will resume accepting visa applications from Moroccan nationals
October 12, 2026 No. 499 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announces that it will start accepting visa applications from Moroccan nationals again on October 12. The measure is in recognition of the Moroccan government’s decision to resume processing visa confirmation letter (VCL) applications from Taiwan nationals on September 21. Effective today, Moroccan nationals may submit visa applications at Taiwan’s overseas missions in accordance with the relevant regulations. Previously, the Moroccan government had made a sudden announcement on July 23 that it would temporarily stop accepting requests for VCLs from Taiwan nationals. Based on the principle of reciprocity, MOFA subsequently announced on July 30 that it would cease accepting visa applications from Moroccan nationals. (E)
