    • At the beginning, Mr. Minister for Digital Transformation made the following remarks.

  • The target of developing 2.3 million digital talent in Vision for a Digital Garden City Nation has been achieved ahead of schedule. However, the qualitative evaluation of what kind of results the developed talent produces has not been sufficiently verified. In light of the progress of AI, we would like to see specific discussions on the image of talent and skill sets based on the needs of society and industries.

    • Subsequently, Chairman Nishio made the following remarks.

  • While the efforts to date have resulted in achieving the target of 2.3 million people ahead of schedule, the abilities and roles required of digital talent are changing significantly due to technological innovations in generative AI and other countries. In the future, it is important to promote human resource development that will lead to the resolution of social issues and the strengthening of Japan's international competitiveness. We would like to have discussions from a wide range of perspectives in this Study Group.

    • The Secretariat explained as follows.

  • With regard to matters related to the operation of the Study Group, based on Document 1 and in consultation with the Chairperson, the meeting materials shall be disclosed in principle and the proceedings shall not be disclosed. A summary of the proceedings shall be disclosed after confirmation by all members. In addition, it is requested that the Yada members appoint a Vice Chairperson for the Study Group.
