Announcement

Digital Agency commissions national and local government officials, including former officials, with extensive experience promoting digital transformation at municipal service counters to serve as advisors. The Agency dispatches these advisors to municipalities that request assistance, sharing practical know-how to help them take the first steps toward independently implementing Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) at their service counters. As part of this initiative, the Agency holds the BPR Advisor Liaison Conference, where advisors share knowledge gained and challenges encountered through their support for municipalities and discuss more effective ways to provide assistance. Minister for Digital Transformation Furukawa observed the FY2026 BPR Advisor Liaison Conference, held on October 11–12, 2026.

During the two-day conference, BPR Advisors and Advisor Trainees presented case studies from various municipalities. They discussed their vision for future municipal service counters and the effective ways to improve support for BPR implementation.

Minister Furukawa observed a workshop held on October 11. He listened to presentations by BPR Advisors and Advisor Trainees on the future of municipal service counters over the next five years, with a view to the challenges posed by the "2040 problem." He then shared his thoughts and expressed his gratitude for their support to municipalities to date.
