【日本人初】渡邉紹裕京都大学名誉教授が国際かんがい排水委員会（ICID）の会長に就任
〇渡邉紹裕（わたなべつぎひろ）京都大学名誉教授が次期会長に選出。
〇1950年のICID創設以来、日本人として初めての会長就任。
令和8年10月17日（土曜日）、フランス・マルセイユで開催された国際かんがい排水委員会（ICID）第77回国際執行理事会において次期会長選挙が行われ、ロシアの候補者が立候補する中、我が国から立候補した渡邉紹裕京都大学名誉教授が国際執行理事会により選出されました。
日本からの選出は70年を超えるICIDの歴史の中で初めてとなります。会長の任期は3年間となります。
ICIDは、かんがい排水に係る科学的、技術的知見により、食料や繊維の供給を世界規模で強化することを目的として1950年に設立された自発的非営利・非政府国際機関（本部：インド（ニューデリー））で、日本は1951年に加盟しました。なお、ICIDは「世界かんがい施設遺産」の認定機関でもあります。
