Thank you for your e-mail of 26 April 2023, in which you ask for information on the following:

The duration of time utilising cloud infrastructure.

The criteria used to choose a cloud provider.

The percentage of infrastructures employing cloud services.

The supplier of cloud infrastructures used. (AWS/Oracle/Azure etc.)

Case studies highlighting the successful implementation of the ‘Cloud-first’ strategy.

The annual budget over the last five years for IT-managed services

Please provide the percentage spent on cloud-managed services

The Forensic Science Regulator does not hold the information which you have requested.

The Forensic Science Regulator is a public appointee and an arms-length body of government who operates independently, on behalf of the criminal justice system as a whole.

The Regulator is supported by a team of officials known as the Office of the Forensic Science Regulator (OFSR) who work under the direction of the Regulator and are employed by the Home Office.

Both the Regulator and OFSR use Home Office IT infrastructure, and therefore do not have access to the information you are requesting.
