Background and Issues under Investigation

In February 2023, the Commission engaged with the Charity after concerns were raised by the National Crime Agency (‘NCA’), which was carrying out a civil investigation into funds held by Trustee C. The concerns related to personal bank accounts under Trustee C’s control that contained significant charitable funds. This included £250,000 from the Charity, which the NCA ensured was returned to the Charity in March 2024.
