Themayerbrown(.)com: Bafin warns consumers about website and identity fraud

The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bafin) warns consumers about the services offered on the website themayerbrown(.)com. According to information available to Bafin, the operators are offering financial services on the website without the required authorisation. The operators are not supervised by Bafin.

The services offered are not connected to Mayer Brown LLP. This is a case of identity fraud.

Anyone providing financial and investment services in Germany may do so only with authorisation from Bafin. However, some companies offer these services without the necessary authorisation. Bafin is issuing this warning on the basis of section 10 (7) of the German Cryptomarkets Supervision Act (KMAG).
