Thank you for your e-mail of 19 July 2023, in which you ask for information about the use of Media Intelligence Services in our organisation. Including the following information:

Whether your organisation is currently using any Media Intelligence services.

If your organisation is using Media Intelligence services, what specific services are being utilised? (e.g., media monitoring, media analysis, media contacts database, etc.)

The name of the provider(s) of these Media Intelligence services.

The total cost of the contract(s) with the provider(s) of these Media Intelligence services, including any fees for additional services not covered by the original contract.

The overall value of the contract(s) with the provider(s) of these Media Intelligence services, including both direct costs and indirect costs (such as training, implementation, or support).

Your request has been handled as a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The Forensic Science Regulator does not use any Media Intelligence services, and therefore does not hold the information which you have requested.

The Forensic Science Regulator is a public appointee and an arms-length body of government who operates independently, on behalf of the criminal justice system as a whole.

The Regulator is supported by a team of officials known as the Office of the Forensic Science Regulator (OFSR) who work under the direction of the Regulator and are employed by the Home Office.

Both the Regulator and OFSR use Home Office IT infrastructure, and therefore do not have access to the information you are requesting.
